COMMON BROKERAGE EVENT (CBE) / EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)

To improve the co-existence of the CATRENE and ENIAC Programmes and in order for the Public Authorities to efficiently estimate the overall budget to be allocated to both programmes, R&D actors together with Public Authorities decided to organise a common AENEAS / CATRENE brokerage event (Common Brokerage Event, CBE) to be followed by an Expression of Interest (EoI) phase in preparation for the upcoming 2010 CATRENE and ENIAC calls. The CBE is intended to facilitate exchanges in order to generate ideas of proposals and to start consortia preparation. The EoI phase is expected to provide a preview of potential proposals for 2010 in terms of subjects and efforts.

Please note, however, that participation in the Common Brokerage Event or in the Expression of Interest phase is not a precondition for participation in the calls of CATRENE and ENIAC.

The Common Brokerage Event was held in Brussels on 15-16 October 2009. To view the report on the results of this event, please consult the webpage below:

The AENEAS and CATRENE Associations are responsible for the organisation and handling of the EoI phase. The Expressions of Interest are expected to result from the consortia building opportunities linked to the CBE or from any other initiatives of R&D actors.

On behalf of the R&D actors of an envisaged project, the project coordinators will be invited by the AENEAS/CATRENE Associations to submit EoIs by means of an online tool, accessible after the CBE. The format and the content structure of the EoI will be imposed by the online tool and has been outlined in the downloadable EoI template. The AENEAS and CATRENE Associations will set-up an online support tool to help the consortia in the completion and submission of their Expressions of Interest.

The AENEAS and CATRENE Associations are the repository of all data received during the EoI phase and will manage this data in a confidential way. Public Authorities, which are in charge of the public funding of CATRENE and ENIAC will be given access to the EoI data after the submission deadline.

The AENEAS and CATRENE Associations will ask the National Public Authorities to support the organisation of the EoI phase by informing potentially interested R&D actors within their territory of this new opportunity.

Before submitting their EoI data and as early as possible, R&D actors are strongly encouraged to contact and interact with their national PAs.

The EoI phase opens on 16 October 2009 and will close on 12 November 2009. A dedicated time schedule is downloadable below:
