REPORT ON THE EVENT

OVERVIEW

The AENEAS Brokerage Event, held on 19 February 2009 in Paris, brought together the main actors of the European Nanoelectronics Community to prepare for the second ENIAC Call for Project Proposals.

145 participants joined the event with a nice balance between research institutes, SMEs and large companies. Several associated organisations as well as PAs also showed their support and interest by being present. All together, more than 20 project initiatives were identified and elaborated on.

During the event, it was announced that ENIAC Call 2 would be launched at the beginning of March 2009.

The Call will focus on the following sub-programmes, as stated in the 2009 Annual Work Programme:

SP1 - Nanoelectronics for Health & Wellness
SP3 - Nanoelectronics for Security & Safety
SP5 - Nanoelectronics for Communication
SP6 - Nanoelectronics for Infotainment
SP7 - Design Methods & Tools for Nanoelectronics
SP8 - Equipment & Materials for Nanoelectronics

Proposals on additional small projects for SP2 (Transport & Mobility) and SP4 (Energy & Environment) will also be accepted.

A new and important difference to the proposal submission process was also highlighted. ENIAC Call 2 will be a two step process beginning with a project outline and followed by a full project proposal.
